Links

Below are a few of my favorite links:

Scale Converter

Easily convert life-size items to miniature scale for crafting.  Great for making Barbie/Action Figure furniture;  choose 1:6 scale.  For traditional doll house size, you can set the converter to 1:12 scale.

Template Maker

Create printable templates for food boxes, grocery bags, lamp shades, trays/frames and more.   This site is my go-to to create  working drawers for miniature furniture by using the box templates.  Easily make miniature kitchen cabinets or any other mini furniture based on rectangular prisms.  Since I can't measure or draw straight lines for diddly-squat, these templates are a dream come true.

Monkey Depot

Sales site for action figures and their accessories.  Good resource to browse if you're brand new to action figures.  I like their sales page for mini weapons and other gear.

Origami Furniture

I have had some success making 1:6 scale furniture from scrapbook paper.  Origami boxes and bowls can also be used for fun miniatures and holiday ornaments.  The origami site that this furniture page is a part of has a wide variety of models with both videos and step-by-step instructions.

Tin Can Dollhouse Chair Tutorial

These are the most complete instructions I've found to make vintage-style 1:6 scale furniture from cans.  (Although the title says "tin can," you can use soda cans, and that's what this tutorial is for.)

Headmold Gallery

Want to identify your Barbie doll's face mold  (also known as a head mold or face sculpt)?  This site has a very complete list with photographs!  Includes Ken and other dolls in the Barbie universe.

Haunted Paper Toys

Spooky site offering printables of mini coffins, haunted houses, ghost ships, mini monster figures, and much more.  Not 1:6 scale, but I think many of them would make great Halloween decorations for dolls.  Features convenient pdf files and instructions for assembling the printables.

Virtual Diorama Maker

Free site for making 2D and 3D floor plans, furniture layouts, garden plans, etc.  It's like the Sims, except no one cries or wets their pants!  When I was away from home but wanted to continue my doll story, I used this site to make "dioramas" and photoshopped my doll characters into the scenes.
