A Frame

The orange and yellow Barbie A-Frame Dreamhouse, restored.  Repainted in neutral tan and brown, beams covered in woodgrain contact paper, and the missing flower boxes replaced with handmade ones.  I have all the front window inserts, I just don't like how they look.

The A-Frame In Summer 2021

Slightly reconfigured, the house becomes a neighbor's house.  This house has replacement flower boxes covered with stone patterned paper and temporary walls covered with the same stone.

I've always imagined the second story rooms on the side wings as patios or sunrooms, so a temporary exterior wall helps sell that illusion.

I love to decorate this house for the holidays.  I made interchangeable flower inserts for the flower boxes to change with the seasons.

Yet another flower box option:  woodgrain without any lattice.

Lucky find:  I found the closet at the Goodwill Bargain Outlet, just lying in a bin.  A bit of searching through the bins yielded a couple of window inserts and a door, making my A-Frame that much more complete.

The back side of the A-frame after painting and reassembly.  I did not paint the white portions, nor did I try to bleach the yellowed sections.  It's an old house;  I like that it shows a little wear.  I do not have the back doors.  I made images of all the doors, printed them, and glued onto foam board so where a plastic door is missing, I can hang a foam board one for photographs.

Kindly ignore the lack of staging.  I created another patio option for the dolls using a temporary wall with a "sliding glass" door.  Siding instead of stone gives a little variety.

The view of the patio from the inside looking out, or I guess it would be more appropriate to call it a balony?   I took this photograph a long time ago.  Please forgive the blurriness and the hideous original Barbie Pink furniture pieces.  Flowers in the foreground are part of a recreation of one of Supernatural's bizarre motel room dividers.

I built a patio to give the dolls a place for outdoor entertaining.   Flipped upside-down, the patio converts to a deck, so each home in the "neighborhood" can have its own personality.

The deck, here used as a front porch on the main house in autumn.

The A-frame is huge.  It's taller and wider than any backdrop I have.

Here is a neighbor's house, also in autumn.  Because she's a talented gardener, the landscaping doesn't necessarily look like fall.
