Season 1, Episode 2: A Game of Clues

Previous Episode   Morning found Bobby Singer back in the Gamble Acres subdivision.  Sunlight streamed in through the window.  If he didn't know better, Bobby thought, he'd be tempted to believe it was the start of a perfectly normal day in the 'burbs.  But it was just that veneer of normalcy that made this place so strange. The sound of water running through the A-frame's aging plumbing system pulled his attention back to reality, or as close to reality as anyone had a right to expect from the afterlife.   Ellen Harvelle was awake.   Bobby got a pot of coffee started. "Mornin', sunshine.  You're sure back early.   Thought you were going to get some sleep before heading back,"  Ellen greeted him with her usual good-natured scolding.  "You drove straight through the night, didn't you, ya damned fool!   What if you'd fallen asleep at the wheel?" Sun 'N Sands Motel

  In Season 5 of Supernatural, Dean and Sam wound up in a much newer, brighter, and cheerier motel than the ones they usually stayed in.  Let's drop in on the Day-Z Motel (alternately known as the Sun 'N Sands) and take a look around. As usual, the boys' "room" at the motel was actually a suite, complete with a large kitchen with a dinette set, two queen beds, and bathroom (occupied by a bikini-clad guest.)  I decided the kitchenette would be perfect for the magical A-Frame kitchen. The kitchen was the first room of the house that I tackled, undaunted by how difficult it is to make kitchens.  The appliances are all in a row on a free-standing wall.  Originally I had it wired for lights, but eventually I replaced them with a ceiling-mounted puck light.  Will I ever repair the holes in the wall?  Probably not. All the doors and drawers function, except the refrigerator.  I do have plans to install shelves and drawers in the fridge and hang the doors...

Season 1, Episode 1: A Long Way from Home

Bobby Singer made himself wait until he'd picked up dinner, checked into the motel, and cracked open a cold beer before he dialed the phone.  He couldn't stop himself from tensing as the phone rang.  What if she didn't pick up? Hours away from Bobby's room, Ellen Harvelle stoked the fire.  Summer was scarcely over, too early to need a fire, but it had seemed right to light one, with the others all away from the house.   She hefted the fire poker in her hand before she put it away, aware of its weight, the fact that it was made of iron.   A potential weapon, one of several within her reach, but the house felt safe in spite of its air of anticipation.   When the phone rang she hurried to pick it up. "Bobby.  Good to hear your voice.  I take it Caleb skipped town once he knew you were on to him?"
