1:6 Scale Hospital Equipment
I took ideas from all of the videos above and made my own hospital bed and equipment.
I haven't seen any free printables for hospital equipment, so I sourced my own from Google searches. There's a variety of equipment and labels available on my printables page and here:
Hospital Bed: The My Froggy Stuff video has the easiest hospital bed. The Diy Projex video has a very complex hospital bed. I made my bed by using ideas from both videos. I don't need a bed with a realistic lower frame and working wheels because I won't be photographing the bottom of the bed.
Monitors: I used ideas from Suzi Q NICU for my monitors. However, I did really like the nurse work station by Diy Projex, so I made a page of printables just for a monitor with interchangeable screens. I made x-rays, brain scans, and ultrasounds in addition to the vitals monitor. There's a single infant ultrasound, and an ultrasound of twins.
Caring for a Plastic Patient
I cut a circle of craft foam with a hole punch and attached it to the doll with some poster putty for a monitor electrode-thingy. As you can see, the blood pressure cuff is just wrapped around the doll's upper arm and the IV tubes are just laid on the mattress.
I used ordinary gauze for the bandage on his chest, and a piece of band-aid for the bandage on his hand (where the IV needle is "inserted.") The cast on his arm is a piece of panty liner.
Faking a Hospital Room in a Hurry

I needed a flashback of Bobby Singer in the hospital for a story, but didn't want to stop and build an entire hospital room. So I faked it with plain white bedding, a cement block wall, and an "IV" consisting of a length of dental floss attached to Bobby's hand with a gauze bandage. The floss trailed away off camera so I didn't have to create an IV pole.
I'm not going to pretend this was a diorama that I was proud of, but it did the trick as far as being able to update the story in a timely fashion.

At the start of Season 3, I needed a hospital room again, so Dean and Bobby could question a hospitalized witness. I still didn't want to take the time to make a complete diorama, so, again, I faked it. I cut out a rectangle of cardboard, quickly folded and taped it into a wedge shape to fake a hospital bed that was raised so the patient could sit upright. The bedding is just a piece of fabric cut from an actual hospital gown I got from a thrift store.
The patient's cast and bandaged head are just gauze. Her arm sling is cut from a paper towel with some white twill tape glued on for the straps. Again, not great but it gets the point across for storytelling.
I used a Dollar Tree box as a dresser and put some flowers and a teddy bear on it to look like get-well gifts, and tucked some balloons behind the bed frame for the same purpose.
Also on the dresser, a pitcher and water glass, and a plastic Mattel tissue box. I cut a piece of real tissue about an inch square, pinched it into a little pouf, and glued it onto the box to give it a little more pizzazz.
Overall I was really happy with how this fake hospital room turned out.
