Winter Clothing

Below are some photos and sewing tips for the winter clothes patterns available  here.

The vest can be made with or without a collar.  It can be lined or unlined.  To line, cut one vest of outer fabric (fleece, felt, faux fur, etc.) Cut one vest out of lining material (thin polyester, satin, tulle, etc.)  Sew shoulder seams on outer vest.  Sew shoulder seams on lining.  Pin outer vest and lining together with good sides facing each other.  Sew around the outer edge of the vest, leaving a gap along the bottom edge.  Turn the vest right-side out.  Sew the gap closed.

You can add a belt to the unlined coat shown below.  Leave the coat plain or trim with faux fur or thick, fuzzy yarn.

Make small pleats in the hood to match it to the neck seam of the coat as shown above and below.

The faux shearling coat pictured below is made almost exactly like the unlined coat above.  This coat is designed to highlight the seams.  Although I designed this coat for Barbie, some customers used it for Ken and it fits him just fine!

Toques or beanies, above.

For a scarf, I recommend a minimum of 8" (~20cm).  The scarves pictured are about 8"x1".  I hand-sewed on craft pom-poms.
